So after Addie woke from her nap I put her on the potty immediately. She didn't wake up dry but she wasn't as wet as usual. We were pretty lax this afternoon with the ritual potty sitting. I think because we had all run out of fuel and motivation. However, she continued to go on the potty when she needed. For the most part she would tell us, but occasionally we would look at the clock and count how long it had been since she had gone (usually 30-45 mins) and we would take her to the potty.
She did seem to be quite hesitant with us telling her to go this afternoon and evening. That is mostly due to her independent personality. So at times she wanted to go to the restroom all by herself without our help. I'm ok with that except she's still working on getting her undies off. We did put a stool under the toilet in the bathroom and she's able to climb up there by herself and scoot herself into position.
This afternoon we called (or tried to call) grandparents and relatives and let her tell them that she has pee peed on the potty. Addison really enjoyed sharing the awesome news and it helped to continue her excitement. Our friends made it over around 6pm and that was fun because we just left her in nothing but her undies and she was able to share the excitement of going on the potty with others besides just mommy and daddy.
So we made it from naptime till bedtime with only one minor accident; which was partly our fault because we were busy saying goodbye to our friends and not paying much attention to Addison announcing that she needed to go potty. She didn't make much of a mess as we were able to get her to the potty to finish. I put her in a diaper tonight for bedtime - though I wanted to do a pull-up I'm just not sure if we're ready for that yet (since they don't hold much).
So now we're done with our 'potty training in 2 days' weekend and we're back to our daily responsibilities tomorrow. We're not quite sure how we're going to do this tomorrow as her school has asked that we bring her in a diaper with undies over the diaper. I'm not exactly thrilled about taking a step backwards being that she's been out of diapers for two days now. They said she has to be asking to go potty in order to ditch the diaper - which she does for the most part with a few reminders and nudges here and there.
Overall we are pleased with her progress and will continue to work with her. Hopefully soon we will have no more diapers for real!
